4) How can FWE be in a position of offering investors annual and final payments?

In Argentina agricultural production costs are considerably lower than many other countries, far lower than the UK for example, not only that the land is very productive, for example depending on the crops grown and the rotation, you can get 2 harvests every 12-14 months. So we have very productive land with low production costs. The annual payments to the investor have been carefully calculated. We have 60,000 hectares of land, 45,000 hectares of which is waiting to become productive, so for every hectare an investor owns, it enables us to get another 3 to 4 hectares into production. In the unlikely event of SCS Farmland not being able to pay the annual payments to the investors from the 2 harvests every year, we have other land in production that can be used to pay investors.

5) Is it possible for an investor who initially opted for a 10-year investment to shorten the investment period?

Yes, if an investor has opted for the 10 year investment then they can opt exit after 5 years where they will receive the initial investment back, but not any capital appreciation. However they investor would have received 5 annual payments during that time.

6) Can the client visit the land?

10) Can I farm the land myself?

If an investor wishes to farm and manage the land themselves then they have that option, they do have to comply with some obligations, such as they can't leave the land unmanaged i.e not grow anything, they can't build on the land, this is all explained in the contract. They also have the option of having another third party farm and manage the land on their behalf; again this is explained in the contract.
